About
"Kids In Nutrition (KIN) is committed to enhancing food equity, promoting sustainable systems, and improving health for at-risk youth and families through food literacy and food access. Recognizing that children develop lifelong habits by the age of nine, KIN's mission is to enhance knowledge of nutrition and food systems and inspire positive food preferences during their formative years. Our primary focus is on marginalized communities, where educational and health disparities contribute to a disproportionate risk of chronic diseases. Early food literacy plays a pivotal role in instilling healthy and sustainable dietary habits that carry into adulthood, building a foundation for: a) preventing chronic disease, b) advancing health equity, and c) boosting environmental sustainability. By mobilizing existing local community resources and spearheading grassroots change, we empower individuals to be part of a movement that will directly impact themselves, their peers, their community, and future generations." – KIN Website
