About
The work of the Office of Community Engagement is at the heart of the overall mission of the University. The programs offered allow students to engage in local and global communities and raise awareness of their obligations to their neighbors through compassionate service, advocacy, and a recognition of the basic human dignity of every person. Nearly all of our programs are organized by student facilitators, who grow their leadership and professional skills as they work with our community partners.
Members of the SHU community who are looking to get involved are encouraged to visit our office in the Academic Center - HC 109. We post weekly volunteer opportunities (transportation provided) to local schools, soup kitchens, food banks, senior centers and more! Groups of students looking to volunteer together (such as a student club, Greek organization, or athletic team), please reach out to our office directly to learn about organizations or events that might be a good fit. We look forward to seeing you in the Community!
