About
We proudly operate a well-organized, clean, and humane facility dedicated to the care and management of animals.
For some people, simply coming to the Shelter to look at our adoptable animals is not enough - they have the desire to give back to their community and help shelter animals by volunteering.
Hundreds, possibly thousands, of Northwest Arkansas residents have volunteered over the years at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. Our volunteers have helped in making our Shelter so successful by meeting our goals of preventing cruelty and suffering to animals, teaching responsible pet care, finding fur-ever homes for our adoptable animals, assisting in sheltering animals in need and reducing pet overpopulation.
Active Participation
Actively participating as a volunteer means you are part of a solution and you make a difference in the lives of our shelter animals. Volunteer opportunities are available for volunteers at the shelter and special events. Our volunteers walk dogs, socialize cats and help spread awareness about what we do and about the amazing animals at the Shelter in need of loving fur-ever homes. With our Hounds Around Town program, our volunteers that are over the age of 18, can check out a dog for the day!
Whereas we do accept volunteers of all ages, volunteers under the age of 16 years old require a parent or guardian with them at all times while volunteering. In order to interact with our dogs, you must be at least 18 years of age or older.
