Tutoring at Andrews Elementary

NOTE: This opportunity is open to current students at The University of Texas at Austin only. Please read the following information thoroughly.

All tutors must complete a background check through Austin Partners in Education (APIE) before tutoring by following the steps noted below. Please allow 7-10 days for processing. 

1. Go to the volunteer portal for Austin Partners in Education.
2. If you have previously completed a background check through APIE, enter your email address and follow the login prompts. Otherwise, click the button to Create a New Account.
3. Enter or confirm your contact and background check information. Provide authorization for a background check in the box at the bottom of the page, and click Next.
4. From the school dropdown menu, select Student Support Services, and click Next.
5. Select the “Sign Me Up” box next to Neighborhood Longhorns. (Currently the 4th option on the list.) Click Next. 
6. Sign the Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement. Click Next, and you should receive a Success message that the steps have been completed.
7. Once your background check has been approved, you are eligible to volunteer with NLP. 

On the day of your tutoring shift, bring your driver's license or an alternative form of identification to the school.
