Paired Academic Leader (PAL)

The Paired Academic Leader (PAL) role provides aspiring educators and youth development advocates with an opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:  

• Assisting SALs with the creation and delivery of diverse learning tactics to teach STEM  concepts to youth through project-based lessons and hands-on activities 

• Engaging with students as a mentor, tutor and role model 

• Preparing materials and supplies required for program operation 

• Maintaining student academic files showcasing work accomplished/completed 

• Attending and supervising Saturday enrichment activities (average of one to two Saturdays per month) 

• Supporting arrival and dismissal of students 

• Supervising children who use RE transportation to and from RE and during RE organized off-site activities (e.g. field trips, social discovery, etc.)
