Información
The 24th Annual Dia de los Ninos event takes place at Plaza Guadalupe from 10 am until 2 pm. Every April 30 many children wake up knowing it’s their special day. Since 1925, children throughout Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, and other Latin American countries honor children on this day. In the U.S. we have celebrated since 1998 when San Antonio, Texas became the first city to pass a resolution naming the day El Día de los Niños Celebrating Young Americans.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Join UTSA students, faculty, and staff volunteers for this event. Our UTSA table will host the Milagros event. First, stop by the UTSA westside community center to check-in and pick up your volunteer shirt. We will demonstrate the activity we will be working on with our families. We have a large number of volunteers and so please be flexible to work at any table or where your talents could be utilized: registration, runner.
This is an outdoor event so please bring a hat, wear sunscreen, and dress appropriately for the outdoors. The phone number to the UTSA Westside Community Center is (210) 458-2400. There are restrooms and a place to store your items.
On behalf of the UTSA Westside Community Center and UTSA Westside Partnership Initiative, we thank you for volunteering.
