FSL Philanthropy

For chapters to submit their philanthropy dollar donations.

What is philanthropy?

·        Philanthropy shall be defined as any money raised for a cause that is external to the chapter.

·        Any act of raising money/items does not count for service hours, instead the dollar amount/number of items should be counted towards Philanthropic Donations. 

·        It is recommended that use the Goodwill Valuation guide when determining the monetary value of donations https://www.goodwill.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Donation_Valuation_Guide.pdf.  

·        Additionally can food drives equal $1 per non-perishable item collected

·        If you assist with a local agency’s philanthropy such as check-in, handing out water, crowd control, those hours would count as service hours 

Examples include the Make-a-wish Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, Heffer International, Extra Life, etc.
