Americans spend approximately 6 billion hours per year preparing their taxes. But why is our tax code so complex? Who benefits from it being that way? And what can be done to make our tax code fairer and more equitable?

Join LINC for our next article club where we'll be learning about the Colorado Tax system, the challenges faced by local taxpayers, and hear from our Mile High United Way program Tax Help Colorado.

Tax Help Colorado helps thousands of individuals and families get the refund they are owed by providing quality, free tax assistance.

Last year:

  • 5,274 returns were filed through the program
  • $14.3 million in tax returns was obtained for families
  • 251 volunteers provided tax assistance to clients across 36 sites
  • 20 languages were supported

If this is your first Article Club, it is just like book club, but wayyyyyy less of a reading commitment.
