~Spooky Seazon~~FNL Edition~
Channel your inner ~spook~ by helping us to make it dark and scary on campus! No ~tricks~ here, Friday Night Lights saves BGSU thousands of dollars each semester. Student volunteers like you are needed to team up and shut off hundreds of energy-wasting lights. Wasting electricity is a ~scary~ thing! Meet on the 2nd floor of the Union outside the theater no later than 6:30pm to report for your shift!
FNL helps BGSU be more sustainable because each week we turn off between 1400-1800 light banks and save several hundred dollars in electricity costs. Since our campus gets electricity from a coal-fired powerplant, this is very helpful in combatting climate change.
About FNL: For many years this service project, created by students, operated to help save electricity (and thus, detrimental emissions caused by electricity use) on Friday evenings. It's simple: Students go around to designated buildings with data sheets and turn off classroom lights that would otherwise be on for the entire weekend. It results in cost savings AND environmental benefits! And in the process, you get to meet people, have fun, and earn an hour of service credit! SO easy! Reporting location is the second floor of the Union, outside the Theater entrance.
