November 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Barry University Andreas Building, Room 111
Join PACT, the CLEO Institute, and the Adrian Dominican Institute for Mission and Leadership, for a forum focused on the ways climate change is impacting South Florida and what residents can do about it.
This event is part of Barry’s Laudato Si' commitment. Pope Francis’s second encyclical, commonly referred to as Laudato Si' (or “Praise be to you”), is subtitled “On Care for Our Common Home.”
Through Laudato Si', the pontiff challenges Catholics and all people to adopt sustainable lifestyles, respond to the “cry of the poor” and the “cry of the earth,” and foster community resilience and empowerment.
The forum will feature speakers from two local organizations addressing climate change in South Florida. Miami-Dade
PACT (People Acting for Community Together) is an interfaith direct-action organization focused on holding public officials accountable for the fair and just treatment of community members in Miami-Dade County.
The CLEO Institute is an organization exclusively dedicated to climate crisis education and advocacy in Miami-Dade County. It is the only women-led nonprofit, nonpartisan organization in Florida with this mission.
Immediately following the forum, participants will be invited to contribute to advocacy/awareness building projects facilitated by the community partners.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Registration is via Give Pulse.
