Información

Palouse Land Trust works to conserve the best of the Palouse and north-central Idaho: open spaces, rare ecosystems, working farms and forests, wildlife habitat, and special outdoor places that bring our community together. Idler’s Rest Nature Preserve is one of these treasured spaces, offering a place for families, students, and nature enthusiasts to explore, learn, and enjoy the outdoors.

As we enter the busy season, with back-to-school activities and ongoing fire pressure, we are looking for volunteers to help keep Idler’s Rest protected and welcoming. Volunteers will greet visitors, share trail etiquette reminders, and engage with families by handing out information about responsible use of the preserve. By volunteering alongside our partners at MAMBA & PRR, your presence helps protect Penstemon Path, prevent shortcutting, limit plant damage, and reduce littering, all while connecting people to this special place!

Who: You!

What: Greet visitors and provide information on trail etiquette and preserve rules

Why: Support the protection of the Penstemon Path by helping prevent shortcutting, plant damage, and littering

When: 2-hour shifts every Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Where: Idler’s Rest Nature Preserve
1187 Idler's Rest Road, Moscow, ID 83843

Provided: Shade canopy, table, outreach materials, and a brief orientation at the start of each shift
