Información
Join FIU Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) in protecting our campus waterways! We’re hosting a Stormwater Drain Labeling Event to raise awareness about keeping pollutants out of our stormwater system. Help us place markers on storm drains to remind our community that only rain belongs in the drain!
Why It Matters
Storm drains on campus flow directly into our community water bodies—without any treatment! That means anything dumped or washed into these drains, like litter, oils, and chemicals, can harm wildlife and water quality. By labeling these drains, we can raise awareness and encourage responsible environmental practices to the FIU community!
In-person location/attendance: Campus Support Complex, Rm 146, 1st Floor

Good morning everyone! 🌞
Just a quick reminder that our Stormwater Labeling Event is happening today! We're excited to get out there and make a positive impact on our community.
The weather is looking great for the morning session, so everything is on as planned. If you're joining us this morning, dress comfortably, bring water, and get ready to have some fun while doing something meaningful! 💧♻️
The afternoon session, however, is looking a bit iffy with possible rain in the forecast. We're keeping a close eye on the weather, and we'll send out updates if we need to cancel or adjust plans for the later group. So please stay tuned and check your messages throughout the day.
Thanks again for being part of this effort, your participation really makes a difference! See you soon!

Hey Panthers!
Just a quick reminder that our Stormwater Awareness Week event is happening on Wednesday, September 24th! This is a great opportunity to learn more about how stormwater impacts our campus and community, and what we can all do to help keep our environment clean and sustainable! Tell all your friends for a chance to receive community hours and the opportunity to help our campus stay clean!
It’s a chance to get involved, ask questions, and find out how small actions can make a big difference when it comes to protecting our water.
Please Note:
With the recent weather we've been experiencing, there’s a possibility that the event may be rescheduled if conditions don’t improve. We’ll keep everyone updated here and through social media if a raincheck is needed, so be sure to check back for the latest info!!
Let us know if you have any questions about the event or stormwater awareness in general. We hope to see you there! Stay Safe Panthers!
FIU Safety: Blue, Gold, and Safety Bold!!
