Description: Participate in a moderated discussion on current and/or divisive issues practicing respectful dialogue and learning how to listen as well as share from personal experience. Could include Socratic Seminars, Restorative Justice Circles, Respectful Conversations in Schools, Deliberation Circles, etc.

Requirements: Ground rules for respectful dialogue, focus on understanding rather than persuasion

  • Dialogue facilitation plan

  • Reflection from participants

  • Personal observations about dialogue process

Reflection Framework:

  • What? What did you learn from listening to others?

  • So What? How do conversations like these strengthen democratic communities?

  • Now What? How could you apply this framework in other areas of your life?
