Thank you for joining your community to give back to our parks and green spaces!
Project Goals: We need your help removing invasive tree-of-heaven and paper mulberry saplings at the Parque Zaragoza "pinch point," which is the northeast entrance to the park on Pleasant Valley Road. The pinch point was recently widened thanks to the acquisition of a sliver of private property. Now that the pinch point is wide, there is an opportunity to widen and improve the trail from the Pleasant Valley sidewalk into the park!
What to Bring:
-
Please bring plenty of drinking water and fluids to stay hydrated throughout the day. Electrolyte beverages and snacks encouraged!
-
Please wear closed-toed shoes, comfortable, weather-appropriate gear for outdoor activities and uneven terrain.
-
Recommendations: Wear long pants and clothing, and don't forget bug spray and sun protection!
Accessibility: Please note that our activity for the day will involve walking on uneven terrain, slopes and potentially wet/muddy surfaces.
Where to Begin : Please meet at 9AM near the North East Corner of the Park here along Pleasant Valley Rd to get started.
Parking: There is parking available throughout the adjacent neighborhood streets.
Thank you so much for giving back to our parks and green spaces!
Children under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or supervising guardian to volunteer.
