Support local artists experiencing homelessness by volunteering in the Art From the Streets (AFTS) Studio. Our open studio sessions offer a safe, creative, and inclusive environment where artists can express themselves freely, build meaningful connections, and create artwork that can generate income and foster independence. Volunteers are an essential part of making the studio a welcoming and empowering space.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare the Studio for Creativity: Help set up art materials, organize supplies, and ensure workspaces are ready for artists as they arrive.

• Welcome & Support Artists: Greet participants with warmth, answer questions, and offer assistance as needed—whether that’s finding materials, navigating the space, or offering encouragement.

• Maintain a Respectful Environment: Help uphold a positive, judgment-free atmosphere where artists feel safe, respected, and inspired to explore their creativity.

• Keep Materials Organized: Restock supplies, keep shared areas tidy, and help manage the flow of tools and equipment throughout the session.

• Provide Compassionate Presence: No artistic experience is required—just empathy, patience, and a willingness to listen and connect. Your presence alone can help artists feel seen, supported, and valued.

• Assist with Closing Tasks: Support cleanup, re-organize supplies, and ensure the studio is ready for the next session.

Monday & Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Wednesday and Thursday: 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

We are asking volunteers to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Thank you!

FREE Parking is available at Canopy.
