Exhibition

Support local artists experiencing homelessness by volunteering in the Art From the Streets (AFTS) Exhibitions. This opportunity provides volunteers the ability to participate in all areas of exhibitions. Including but not limited to; curation, artwork documentation and cataloging, and installation of work for our events. Exhibition volunteers ensure that our artists have the best possible presentation for their work, and are a crucial role in the day-to-day operations.

What You’ll Do

• Assist Exhibition Leads/ Staff: Handling works of art in various situations according to Art From the Streets guidelines; install, de-install, pack and unpack works of art, and prepare the studio for exhibitions.

• Responsible for Maintenance of Studio: assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the studio prior to any exhibition; sweeping, prepping and painting walls, and keeping all tools and supplies organized and in stock.

• Prepare Works of Art for Loan, Storage, or Install: ie, attach hanging hardware to works, package work on paper, file appropriate paperwork with corresponding artwork, photograph and document artwork.

• Assist in Reciving Artwork: With the support of Exhibition leads and staff, review and intake artwork submitted for Art From the Streets collection.

• Opportunity to Volunteer Remote: Using Artwork Archive to assist in the online cataloging work in our permanent collection.
