This exercise reminded me of the importance of civic participation. This is a key part of the function of a healthy democracy, and I intend to continue with this work. Advocacy by constituents is incredibly important and its impact cannot be overstated.
It was relieving to know that people were able to look over issues I think should be addressed and or addressed more.
it was a fun event, our letters got to the mayor, and we even visited her! Sadly, I was sick and couldn't come, but i watched it because it was on the news (WDAY)
I emailed elected officials about safety issues in Dilworth, including speeding, traffic noise, walkability, and parking rules. Even though I did not get a response, I learned that speaking up is important because it helps leaders understand community concerns and improve the neighborhood.
It was fun but time-consuming. I would recommend others to do this so they can change what they want to see changed.
Reflecting on this, it shows that my voice is heard and not left behind, and that my officials will also seem to realize that our problems will be heard
I liked this activity, I enjoyed that we got responses from our local community about how they would address these issues.
This was very fun to complete and was a good way to fill in the spare time I have
