I think the different slides with examples of what emails were sent to the advisors was really eye opening and made me reflect on how I email everyone in a professional setting, this has helped me out a lot!
I've learned that using ID verification at the end of an email to your professors is a must as they have hundreds of students to get to an it aids them much better
I really enjoyed this session, majority of what was talked about is what I usually do on a normal basis when I have questions or concerns with my professors or anyone for that matter. I feel like this session helped a lot of students because there's many that might not know how to effectively or respectfully communicate with someone whether it may be with a professor or somebody that's professional. Adulting 101 shows you how to properly speak to people in person(verbal) and non-verbal, which was a good help for me and others as well.
I've learned that in Adulting, one of the things to keep in mind is that you have to be really careful when it comes to texting other students and teachers. You can't be brief or absent-minded in what you write. You need to always be attentive to them, as those can change the relationship you have with teachers, professors, and other students. I'll apply them by making better emails to my staff members and my peers in the future and alter how I structure them, whether it's important or not.
This meeting was very informative, I appreciate how this was a meeting where everyone had to somewhat participate, even though we were a little off with our timing
During this Adulting 101 session, I learned how to properly write and send professional emails to advisors and professors. I learned that it is very important to be polite, respectful, and clear when communicating. I also learned to understand that professors and staff are human and may be busy, so we should be patient and professional when reaching out to them.
I learned a lot this session. Had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. But was a good learning session about how to properly email people.
