I learned to put myself first and then to help others. Working on how to study better what to do first then later what my priorities are and to set them first.
We had a good conversation about attention and how it affects our daily lives. I learned the importance of staying focused, avoiding distractions, and being mindful of where I direct my attention. I also learned that it's important to set boundaries and make time for myself.
Attending the STRIVE Power Circle – "Attention is the New Currency" was very insightful. In the session, Dr. Pair and Mr. Hamlin helped us understand that everyone’s journey is going to look different. Another thing that was mentioned in the meeting was that depending on what we give our attention, that specific aspect of our lives will grow. In other words, we as people grow in areas we intend to build on. Overall, the session was a good reminder to not compare ourselves to others, but to focus on our own journeys.
I enjoyed the meeting with Mr.Heat and Dr.Pair they shared valuable information about how to not be attached to things that hold us back from doing our best like social media or the wrong people. I like the strategies that were shared to maintain positive relationship with social media.
This power circle showed me how to turn my attention into a strength . For example for something i want to get better at, i would mainly focus on things that are related said thing.
I was able to connect, discuss, and opinionate on how "attention" from any sort can affect us either negatively or positively. We discussed on how online and in-person comparison from people to us affects us mentally, socially, and academically. We also shared our struggles with FOMO, comparison, and feeling behind especially because we are attending community college. Overall, I enjoy these power circles because it allows us to reflect and connect with people with similar stuggles.
