Have Breakfast with Bird!

Thank you for volunteering for Keep Austin Beautiful's Clean Lady Bird Lake event with Bird at the Zach Theater Shoreline cleanup.

For this special site, we will be meeting at Eggman ATX (1720 Barton Springs Rd) for breakfast and coffee. Then, volunteers will head to the Zach Theater cleanup site together via Bird scooters.

8:15 am: Meet at Eggman ATX for breakfast and coffee, provided by Bird!
8:45 am: Ride together via Bird scooter to 202 S Lamar Blvd.
9:00 - 11:00 am: Shoreline cleanup for Clean Lady Bird Lake.

All ages are welcome at this site with adult supervision; however, you must be 18+ to join the scooter ride with Bird. *Just as a reminder, this is a shoreline cleanup and does not involve boats.*

Your Lake Leaders for this site will be Lauren Carson and Karen Garbaccio with Keep Austin Beautiful and they will have your cleanup supplies, helpful safety guidelines, and further instructions for you.

“Know Before You Go”

Before you head out, please keep the following in mind:

  • Per Texas State Law, life jackets are required for everyone on a watercraft. For all children 13 and under the life jacket must be worn at all times. For more information on boater safety, please look to TPWD.
  • Be aware that toxic algae blooms can occur in Lady Bird Lake. Whenever you're around natural bodies of water, remain vigilant.
  • Recognize that zebra mussels are invasive and widespread in Texas waterways. Let us know if you see any zebra mussels during your volunteer activity.
  • Be able to identify poison ivy, oak, and sumac; identifying these plants is essential for a safe cleanup.
  • Hydrate and take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. Consult this guide for tips on recognizing and addressing heat-related issues.

Thanks again for being involved in making Austin such a unique and beautiful place to live and experience! See you on the lake!
