I am very glad I got the opportunity to attend this mini session. I learned how to navigate through the Navigate website, plan classes, and register for classes. Maya Smith was a great speaker and taught all of us very important skills we will need to succeed in college.

This workshop taught me a lot about respecting other people's time and communicating on a professional level. I also learned to come prepared for appointments and cancel ahead if needed. I can definitely apply these lessons when communicating with professors and others.
I attended the PGCC Women's Soccer game against Montgomery College. Although PGCC lost 1-3, I still enjoyed watching the game and cheering for my school. I've definitely learned to appreciate how much teamwork and effort soccer genuinely requires, and watching it in person, even though there were disappointing results, made the sport more fun and interesting to me. Overall it was a fun even to attend to get my mind off school work.
I learned that small changes can help prevent burnout, like going outside or listening to music. I also learned that sometimes we invest too much in our work and our relationships, and we forget about ourselves. One thing I do a lot is procrastinate, and this lesson informed me that procrastinating is also a form of burnout.
This was a really insightful mini-lesson, especially for me. I went into it assuming I knew everything about degrees, but as I listened, I realized I was not as informed as I thought. Now, after the meeting, I am able to understand the differences between AA, AS, and AAS degrees. One thing I really learned, was that AA and AS degrees mainly prepare students to transfer to a four-year college, while AAS degrees focus on entering the workforce.
I really enjoyed cheering for PGCC as they beat Cecil College 4–1. My favorite goal was the first goal; Number 18 scored it, and overall it gave PGCC a really good early lead and set the tone for the entire game. I liked watching how the team worked together and kept pushing for more goals relentlessly. The experience showed me how exciting and interesting a soccer game genuinley can be, especially when I’m supporting and rooting for my own school.
The PGCC promise orientation helped me understand the program better. I learned more about what is expected of scholarship students and the requirements for keeping the scholarship. It also helped me understand the importance of meeting deadlines and staying involved on campus. After attending I feel more prepared for the semester. Overall, It was a great way to get started at PGCC.
