Cosette Lieble

I have enjoyed the kids I worked with during this volunteer service. They are all so funny, confident, independent, and intelligent. They are teaching me a few lessons as well. My biggest challenge was getting my foot through the door. I was nervous initially as I had never done something like this before. I was told my eyes were popping out of my head. However, my confidence quickly returned when I entered the classroom and met the students. My key takeaway from this day is how much the students enjoyed the experience. Some of the reason is because they are out of class, but some have opened up, and I can see friendships being made. It is so great to provide mentors to students, as it gives them someone a bit closer to their age to talk and look up to. As a shy student, I would have benefitted heavily from this program.
