I had a great experience working with my peers at ACFB. As this was my second time at the Hunger Action Center, I felt that I was much more experienced and able to work more efficiently in the sorting category. I was especially excited when we surpassed our goal of 10,000 pounds of food.

I had a fantastic time at Atlanta Community Food Bank. In my hometown of Dallas, I had become extremely immersed in the food bank network that serviced the community, and it was so refreshing to find such a robust system here as well. As I sorted food items alongside my peers, I felt reconnected to the work I always felt was important. Though this session was a 'behind the scenes' extension of the totality of service that ACFB provides for those in need, I could feel that my impact was just the beginning of a positive change in someone's life. I look forward to volunteering with this organization again soon!
