This is the first time I’ve participated in service that primarily will aid animals and dog owners, and even though my hands hurt, I’m excited by the work I did!!

As stated last time I used this app, each time is a new and interesting experience. Today's was especially somber, as the member I listened to dealt with some pretty awful traumatic experience. It is difficult, at times, to provide support for people who have gone through such tragedy, but it makes me feel like I am making a difference in the lives of the people I spoke to. I will definitely continue to use the app when I have some free time and am able to be engaged and fully there for the people I am listening to. It's sometimes difficult as a student to find time where you are completely free and open, but I think that helping others is one of the most noble ways to spend that time. (Thompson Scholars, if you need photographic proof of this volunteer experience, please email me at hboyle@bgsu.edu. also, because this volunteer experience was an app, I put the name of a contact who was there while I was doing it this experience.
Writing the “warm and fuzzies” to be passed around campus was a great experience, not only because I felt like they were going to make a difference in peoples’ day (especially during finals time), but also because of the group that was in attendance at ODK’s event.
