This meeting educated me towards the effects of hypertension on the eyes. We learned how it affects the retina causing hypertensive retinopathy, and that there may not be any warning signs! This is why it is important to ensure we are educating others and spreading awareness towards controlling high blood pressure. Overall, great event and very informative!

This online event was truly enlightening, it's shocking the amount of micro/nano plastics within everyday items that we consume like water bottles, and within us daily! It was also interesting learning about the impact on human health, such as disrupting the balance of microbiomes, weakening the immune system, increasing the number of acute and chronic diseases and causing resistance towards treatments. We also went over how there is a correlation between the increase in use of plastic and the increase in heat within the ocean, leading to the rising temperatures in the ocean. Overall, it was a very informative live online event.
