Emanie Montgomery

During this time at my previous university, I had the opportunity to serve the city of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Being a computer science major, I strived to further my knowledge academically and to give back to the local charter school's STEM program. For a year and a half, I visited Friendship Aspire Southeast to serve as a representation to students. I demonstrated that someone with the same background as them could be scientist in this world. We talked about the importance of our health through Science, understood how Technology and Engineering worked by operating various robots, and we also utilized Mathematics to ensure that our code for the robots were accurate. Overall, this experience was eye-opening and encouraging as I too learned from the many children I encountered.
