Mentoring at Washington Montessori

Our topic at Washington Montessori was bullying. We did a presentation and an activity, as well as talked about some bullying experiences the girls have been in. It was a really good chance for us to be a little more vulnerable with the girls, and they reciprocated as well.

This was the last second harvest on the month so it felt good to close out the month with them! This day we did food sorting which was different than what we did last time, but I enjoyed it!

This past Tuesday was our second time with the girls and we had some news girls to join us, so that was cool to get to know them! The Alpha Phi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha's Royal Court joined us today and did a lesson on health. I think the girls were excited to meet them and the games were really fun and got them up and moving!

Feb 14th was the first day at Washington Montessori and it went really well! We introduced ourselves as well as our org, and the girls introduced themselves as well. I'm looking forward to building more connections with them.

This was my first time working with Second Harvest, so it was a really great experience being able to do it with my org. Not only was a time for us to show up for our community, but also a good bonding activity. Super excited to do it on the 24th of Feb.
