This week, I participated in Howard University's Alternative Spring Break where we participated in helping various kids in grade, middle, and high school in Nashville, TN. Various activities include tutoring children in math and science, hosting and playing games with middle schoolers, and hosting college panels with high schoolers.
How this relates to Biology: While playing games with the middle schoolers we encountered, our bodies use ATP (Adenosine triphosphate). ATP is an energy-carrying molecule found in the cells of all living things. ATP captures chemical energy obtained from the breakdown of food molecules and releases it to fuel other cellular processes. Muscles, and indeed every cell in your body, require the source of energy that keeps everything going. ATP is the way your body uses biochemicals to store and use energy.
