Luisa Paraguassu

This was a wonderful experience that I was able to partake in during my semester studying abroad in Granada, Spain. During my time working with this foundation a fellow UNC study abroad student and I were assigned to spend time with an older woman in my community, engaged with her solely in Spanish, and made sure she went out to get fresh air. It was beautiful to learn so much about the city we were temporarily living in from her, how it has changed, and how her life had played out within it. My favorite part of this experience was attending a cooking competition that she was partaking in and watching her thrive in her element. I only wish I had engaged with this program sooner so I could've had more time with her!
