We participated in a Bingo! The CTE Advisor, Ms. Smith, made a wheel of careers, and each time the wheel chose a career, she would look it up on the PGCC career coach website and go through the most important details about the career. This meeting exposed me to a lot of careers I hadn't heard about before, and afterwards I headed to the website to check out more careers that applied to my major.

Ms. Gonzalez was quick but thorough in explaining the most important features of the MyPGCC portal and how to find those features we would need most as students. I definitely feel more confident in navigating the portal than before.
During the Zoom, Mr. Cruz, with the help of Ms. Sharber, covered many bases such as registering for events, how to add impacts, how to manually add impacts, and in general showing us how to read our way around the website and SSP page. I definitely feel more confident about manually adding impacts than I did before.
The "Booked and Busy: Leveling Up Academically" workshop was so fun! I enjoyed the enthusiasm from Mr. Ross, and from my other peers. I also learned new strategies on how to help myself grow throughout the rest of my college experience.
The orientation was super engaging but also informational, and it made me feel prepared for STRIVEs upcoming events and workshops!
I attended the first PG Promise Scholarship orientation at the Duke’s student center at PGCC on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 as a Promise eligible recipient. The coordinators, assistants, and panelists present at the event gave a ton of important and useful information that encouraged me as a student to get more involved on campus and with other organizations.
