The GivePulse training taught me how to use the platform to find volunteer opportunities and track my service hours. I learned that GivePulse can help students stay organized and connect with meaningful community service experiences. Overall, the training was helpful and easy to understand.
Volunteering during the scholarship orientation was a rewarding experience. I had the opportunity to welcome new scholarship students, guide them around campus, answer questions, and assist with other tasks to help the event run smoothly. It felt good to be able to support students who are beginning their college journey and help them feel more comfortable and confident. This experience strengthened my communication, teamwork, and leadership skills while reminding me of the importance of giving back to my school community. I am grateful for the opportunity to volunteer and look forward to participating in similar events in the future.
During the end of semester spring 2026, the SSP team went over the requirements to remain in the Promise Scholarship Program. They went over the required 15 hours of engagement hours and how to earn them, where to find PGCC events to earn hours. They also went over the required 30 credits that need to be earned each academic year, explained what an academic year is, and much over. Then after the meeting, the SSP team had a Q&A for students.
