I attended the SGA Town Hall/Q&A meeting virtually. At this meeting, we received lots of valuable information from our SGA about upcoming events and other student-related activities, including the Annual Holi Festival and spirit week. On top of that, we got to listen in to the upcoming nominees that the students are voting for to take up the positions within SGA. Finally, the Q&A with Dr. Beale was incredible helpful when it came to answering common student and parent questions with a live presentation. He was very receptive and answered all concerns the best he could. Overall, the Town Hall and Q&A meeting was packed full of useful information regarding key aspects of PGCC that not even I was aware of.

I attended the PGCC Baseball vs Harford Community College game and still cheered on our owls regardless of the outcome of the game. The second inning was very strong with 3 points towards us. There was lots of close moments throughout the game, and I could have seen a win for the owls at any point. Overall it was fun, and I believe in more wins in the future.
I attended the PGCC Baseball vs CCBC Dundalk game and cheered on our owls as they faced off against the lions. With a strong start in innings 2-4, especially in inning 3, we took home the win with a 5-1 final score. It was a very entertaining watch without a doubt, and I'm excited to return back for future games and continue to see a solid season from our own.
I attended the Academic Pathways Mini Session hosted by guest speaker, Francisco Obregon, who is an advisor for ESL and CTE. In this session we received a major refresher on the different types of degrees offered by PGCC as well as certificates, that all have different purposes for our unique goals. For instance, my degree is an AS degree, meaning that my goal is to eventually transfer to a 4-year-degree. Also, we were introduced to ONET Online, which is a highly useful website that allows us to review the careers we're interested in and obtain valuable information on them. Overall, the mini session was very informative and allowed me to be better reassured that I am in the correct degree type.
I attended the GivePulse Demo Training session hosted by Elio Cruz. At this session we received a refresher on the GivePulse website and how to navigate it efficiently. I was reminded of how logging hours works, how the calendar system works, and the importance of cancelling registrations for events when you're unable to attend. Furthermore, being aware of the events on the site, including mini sessions, are crucial to success in the program.
I attended the ReFresh Meeting hosted by the Special Scholarships team. At this meeting, we received an engaging welcome back to the spring semester with a Kahoot and important information to get us back into our scholarship requirements. We were reminded about our engagement hours, academic requirements, and the results of not abiding by the demands, which include academic and program recovery. This meeting was well needed after a long winter break, and I feel more prepared for this upcoming semester.
I attended the End of Semester Meeting hosted by the Promise Team. It was highly important in nature as it related to scholarship requirements and the future of the program in the coming spring semester. Some of the things covered were obtaining the necessary credit amount by summer 2026, garnering the 15 engagement hours each semester, checking personal emails for status, dates for bookstore purchasing regarding winter and spring semester, and ensuring that we attended two required sessions such as launch, refresh, and end of semester. Even knowing where I stand with the program currently, the meeting was still a necessary reminder of how the program operates and the things that I am required to do as a Promise student.
I attended the GivePulse Demo Training Mini Session hosted by Elio Cruz. This session was very informative and helped clear up any misunderstandings I had with the GivePulse website, especially with all the small details that come with adding impacts or searching for events that count toward hours. It was also full of excellent tips that I kept note of, particularly the calendar feature that I had no idea existed, which allows me to go back and look at previous events that I may have attended. Overall, the session was definitely worth attending.
I attended the in-person College Transfer Made Easy mini session, which was hosted by DMV Archive. The presentation itself was really engaging and informational, and the fact that it was told by a current senior at the University of Maryland made it easier to connect, especially since she was very understanding and made it personalized to her experiences. I gathered many helpful tips about clubs, scholarships, and student life, and coming out of the session, I felt more comfortable making those important connections that would help me succeed in my college career.
I attended the virtual mini session for transferring, which was hosted by Elio Cruz. In this session I learned about various aspects of transferring that includes hidden fees, “shock sticker” of multiplied prices, scholarships, and deciding on the best school for us. Something that was even more important for me was making sure that I resubmitted the AP credits to the 4-year university of my choice as submitting it once to PGCC does not guarantee they transfer if not submitted again. Overall, I took many valuable pointers from this session and have a better understanding of how transferring will go when I am graduating.
