This mini session was very insightful, for students who are having trouble communicating their dilemmas in emails. The mini session also provided helpful examples on how to and how to not send an email to instructors and other professionals.

We were taught how to create signatures on Outlook. Although I already knew majority of the information that was shared, and I've been applying these tips on how to make my emails better since middle school. It was interesting to hear the other opinions and views on how to write an email.

I appreciated the short segment where Ms. Chantia touched on what you should and shouldn't wear in a professional setting. The analogy she used was clever. Saying that you wouldn't wear what you wear to school to a wedding or you wouldn't wear what you'd wear to a dinner to bed.

In today's mini session, we talked about the unwritten rules of college etiquette. We looked at emails and analyzed what was missing, while also discussing how to communicate appropriately in different settings such as school, work, and casual environments. We also talked about how to properly send and respond to emails and create a professional email signature.

I went to a mini session for my promise scholarship. The session was "Read the Room" hosted by Chantia Sharber. She showed us how to navigate college waters and what we are expected to know going into college but might not have learned. At the start she showed us what a professional and unprofessional email looks like for an email. She had us point out what the incorrect email was missing. She explained that texting someone like your friend verses your professor or employer is different. You have to be more professional talking to your professor/employer. She also explained what should and should not be in an email.

this meeting helped me understand how emails should be sent in a professional manner. Overall, it helped me practice it and see how I can use it in the future.
