I was able to have a great shift supply running on Monday. It's always so amazing to be able to see that someone has gotten something they needed and the services they rely on. There was luckily a lot of clothing and other supplies that I was able to get to people and I also got to make some great connections with guests.
On Monday I did supply running and it was a really nice shift since I was able to figure out the best way to approach different guests. I was able to connect really well with a couple guests and find things they loved. On Wednesday I worked in kids activities and had a great time showing another volunteer how we do everything since it was her first time in that role. I also got to connect with some kids I had played with in the past and they were happy to see me which was really sweet.
I was working in kid's activities for the past two Wednesdays. I have been loving working with the kids so much. This Wednesday I was able to make a really strong connection with a toddler who was high energy and so so sweet. I also did supply running on Monday and it was really busy but overall went really well.
On Monday I was in donations sorting some clothes and shoes and on Wednesday I was in kid's activities. I've noticed that there has been more kids at Rose Haven during kids's activities recently and it has been really great to see them all playing with each other and with volunteers.
Wednesday with the kids went really well! I held a very cute baby for a while and then played with an older kid. It was nice to see hoe busy it was and how well everyone was getting along!
On Wednesday I was able to work with the kids and it was really busy. I had a great connection with a couple high energy kids who eventually started playing with each other and had a great time. It was great to be able to see them get their energy out and have fun together. On Monday I did supply running and dropped off the donations I collected. Supply running went really well and was super busy. I was so happy we got through all the slips by the time we closed because I was worried we wouldn't. I love working with that team of people.
On Monday I was able to work on the wellness pop up shop which was so amazing. I loved doing it so much. It was great to be able to interact with so many guests and provide a much loved service. I then was able to talk to Angel about the fundraiser on Tuesday and she gave me the sign I would use which were so beautiful. On Monday night I made a large amount of cookies and packaged them up. On Tuesday I brought the cookies along with all the supplies to campus and set up my CUTE Campaign. I was able to get around 50 dollars in donations and a decent amount of interaction with people who were interested to learn more about Rose Haven. I think it went really well. I was sad that I couldn't come back on Thursday to do it again and collect any clothes people may have brought to donate because of the campus closure.
I had a great time working in donations on Monday. Everyone had been so amazing that there wasn't many clothes to sort anymore. I mostly did some organizing in the basement. On Wednesday I had a great time working with the kids. There weren't too many there, but the couple that were were super sweet. It was also super cool to meet the librarian who came to read to the kids.
I was working in kids activities this Wednesday. There were a lot of volunteers and also lots of kids. It's nice that I've gotten to know some of the families that come often and know the personalities of the kids more.
On Monday I did supply running and we had a nice team of people doing it so we were able to get through a lot of slips to help guests. There was some difficultly with bigger sized coats being very low and one guest specifically couldn't get the coat they needed. Other than that it went well. On Wednesday I worked in donations and was able to get through a lot of clothing with the other volunteers. I also got to help a bit with setting up the coat and shoe drive that Subaru was doing. It was nice to see how much of the clothing pile we were able to get through.
